Sukhna lake…a man made beauty

Few days back, I came to Chandigarh to visit a friend. Yesterday afternoon, it was raining and one of my friend asked me to accompany him for a stroll. It was actually not decided where to go. Then when we reach the rickshaw stand, we decided to go to the Sukhna Lake. It was Sunday and the place was crowded with people of every class. Well, the place was a real beauty. There were couples, then there were families, some have come for a run, some for a walk and some they just came for no specific reason. The boundary of the lake which is properly maintained stretches for around 2 Km. It had just rained; the air was cold, the sky cloudy and the sun about to set in an hour. The view of the lake is just exotic, it is the best view I came across in the past few months. Around the lake, Indian classical music is played from numerous speakers. When you sit by the lake, watching the small waves formed in the surface of the lake and the music in the background, it seems like the waves and the music is synchronised. Just by watching it, I just felt relaxed. The other side of the lake is densely inhibited by trees and bushes, far beyond the lake there are different shades of trees, light green first and then it turns to dark green. Beyond the trees there lie the mountain ranges of Kasauli. This adds to the beauty of the lake which is absolutely stunning. When it grew darker you can see the light sparkling from the mountains like the jewel embedded on the mountain. To get the real picture of what I am talking about one should once visit the lake in the evening after it rained, then you would know what I am really talking about.

My trip to Mysore

I had a trip to Mysore few days back. Mysore is situated around 140 Km from Banglore, capital city of Karnataka. It took me two and half hours to travel from Banglore to Mysore by bus. During my stay in Mysore, there were things which I like and which I dislike. Mysore is known as the Heritage city. As I traveled around the city, I could say it is indeed a heritage city.

Is this the last hope for cancer patients????

For the last two three weeks, I was home for vacation. During my stay at Imphal, Manipur, a smal state in Noth-east India, I heard of a miracle medicine which is able to cure cancer. I ignored the information at first as many similar rumours are heard in the state previously, but to my surprise the news was spread all over the state and it was the talk of the state and the center of every discussion in the state. I got interested and enquired about it. It came out to be a plant extract, green in colour, found in a small village known as Saikot, Churachandpur. It is said that the plant extract was discovered by a 70 year old Pa-Chawilien. (Read the article)

Atlas Shrugged-I did it at last…

Yes, I completed Atlas Shrugged, a 1000 page novel. The philosophy behind the whole story was really great. It was great to be able guess that Francisco, Galt and Ragnar would be friends. The beauty of Galt’s Gulch, the valley, described by Rand was extraordinary. After reading about the valley I wonder whether there exists such a place and if there is one, I would definitely love to visit that place, atleast and if I could I wold buy a house in that place. The character of Dagny Taggart was really interesting and attractiv (Read the article)

Breaking the habit

I am not a person who read much. I don’t enjoy reading. Recently,it was getting difficult to kill time as it was to hot to go outside and damn boring to sit inside the room, then, one of my friend told me that to read novels as it is educational as well as it is the best way to pass time. Then, he suggested me to read Ayn Rand’s Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. He didn’t have Fountainhead that day so he gave me Atlas Shrugged. At first sight of the book, I almost got a heart attack.
